Rachel Myre was born in 1987 in Mesquite, Texas, to a United Methodist minister and a software engineer.  She showed her creativity at an early age, drawing, painting, and creating throughout her childhood.  Although art was always a part of her life, she did not take any formal classes until the age of 17.  That first class acted as a spark upon tinder; she enjoyed it immensely and decided to pursue a degree in art.  In August 2009, she will graduate from the University of North Texas with a BFA in Watercolor.  After her graduation, she intends to develop a career as a studio artist.
